Plan for the week

#GSDGSDGSD

Get shit done. It’s time to put more time into this. Time to stop talking about what we’re going to do, what we’re going to accomplish and set out to accomplish those goals.

Tasks for the week:
1. Set up social media
2. Draft up information flyer
3. Finish the 10 week plan workshop and start on making the package we’re selling to schools.

Deadline will be next Monday 1st Feb. Ready to smash this! #GSD

A new hope

New year, new hopes and so far so good. We set out some goals for ourselves this year to stay on top of things and to help keep us motivated. We made targets for our roles at Robogals and for StemEd like number of schools, numbers of students, basically our KPIs for the year. One of which is to actually make a post on this blog every fortnight so look forward to that.

More importantly though, the new year is a time to reflect on the previous year, where we went wrong and how we could do better. Last year was a crazy year for both Sing and me. We met each other in August and only became friends in September/October. Between the two of us, we were in at least 5 different countries last year. Sing spent the majority of the year not in Australia. I started a new uni course. Sing had to write-off his car. I helped fix aircraft parts at the airport. To say it was a busy year is an understatement. We lost hours of sleep, gained a few kilos from all the junk food we ate during the countless hours spent cramming during exam period and lost some marks but it was all worth it. Would not change a second of it.

But moving ahead there are some things we would like to do better like have a normal sleeping pattern, eating at regular hours, y’know the usual things that keep a person healthy. Next year is Sing’s final year so he wants to knuckle down, get the best final year project and graduate with honours. I want to get back to my D/HD average because I stopped trying a long time ago and I realised it’s a bad way of living.

I’m both terrified and excited about next year because we’re going to be super busy with StemEd, Robogals, uni, Unmanned Aerial System team, final year projects but we’ve decided to use the word excited instead of terrified to make things sound more exciting so I’m both excited and excited.

Sydney trip

When the year was over, I really needed a break from life. So we decided to go on a ‘yoloday’ to Sydney for 5 days. Needless to say, it was an amazing 5 days. We went from camping in the Blue Mountains to getting lost in China Town without Google Maps (harder than you think lolol)

When we arrived in Sydney with our backpacks, we had an idea of where we’re going but no plan. We purchased a tent from Kmart the day before for $15 and tested it out in a park, we bought food from Coles for dinner (decided to make Burgers) before making the trek out to Blue Mountains. Being the optimistic people we are, we thought there would be a public BBQ area that we can use, turns out there wasn’t so we had to collect wood and start a camp fire to cooked our burgers and eggs. Huge success! Even managed to toast our buns.

The weather was horrible throughout the Sydney trip as it was raining everyday we were there, this didn’t stop us though. On the second day, we decided to go explore The Three Sisters, so we ended up hiking around the area in pouring rain. We were literally up in the clouds! But it was totally worth it because we made it to the top of one of The Three Sisters and crossed a bridge to the second one.

That night we decided to set up a tent in the rain and camp out again because the first night was so successful. Worst sleep ever… We ended up sleeping in our cars after lol

All the other days, we just went around trying out the infamous Sydney freak shakes. We gained weight…

Honuorable mention to a Thai restaurant called Chat Thai, amazing Thai food and we found out about it on Google Maps searching ‘Thai restaurants near me’. Best feast was at Food Craft, best burgers ever! Best milkshake at XS Expresso. Dat fondu tho..

Sydney summary: we ate, we hiked, we camped, and did a lot of stupid shit. Was fun, would do again/10
